Gun Safety

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises that the safest home for children is one without guns. If there are guns in your home, you must take important steps to keep your family safe from injury or death. It is important to store your firearms where a child can never access them. Project ChildSafe offers free, cable-style gun locks and safety instructions. Visit their website to request a kit.

Remember to safely store all firearms when not in use. Putting a firearm out of sight or out of reach is not safe storage and not enough to prevent use by children or unauthorized adults per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Domestic Violence Resources

If your partner is a threat to you and/or your children, there are resources that can help. You can get free and confidential information from a domestic violence program in your area. These programs can help you develop a safety plan, find shelters or safe homes, and more. You can also call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at any time: 1-800-799-7233 (TTY 1-800-787-3224).
